What is Zinc and why does the body need Zinc

Zinc is a trace element that is essential for the body. It is therefore vital for humans and cannot be produced by the body itself. Since there are no traditional storage organs for zinc in the body, it must be supplied regularly to prevent a deficiency.

The benefits of zinc are very diverse. Among other things, zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system and helps to maintain normal bones, skin, hair and nails. It also contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and cognitive function.

The official health claims for zinc are as follows:
- Zinc contributes to normal acid-base metabolism.
- Zinc contributes to normal carbohydrate metabolism.
- Zinc contributes to normal cognitive function.
- Zinc contributes to normal DNA synthesis.
- Zinc contributes to normal fertility and normal reproduction.
- Zinc contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism
- Zinc contributes to normal fatty acid metabolism.
- Zinc contributes to normal vitamin A metabolism.
- Zinc contributes to normal protein synthesis.
- Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
- Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal hair.
- Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal nails.
- Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin.
- Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood.
- Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.
- Zinc contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system.
- Zinc helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
- Zinc has a function in cell division.

Can I meet my daily needs through food?

According to the Federal Office of Public Health, intake from food supplements must not exceed 5.3mg. We recommend this 5.3mg especially in the cold season to maintain the normal function of the immune system. Approximately 2 grams of zinc are stored in the human body. Most of it is in the bones, skin and hair.

Zinc occurs naturally in many plant and animal foods. The average daily requirement of 10mg is therefore relatively easy to cover. The daily requirement is already covered with 120g of pumpkin seeds or 255g of beef cutlets, for example.

The phytate content in foods can inhibit zinc absorption. Phytate is found in whole grains and legumes. Nevertheless, whole grain products still contain enough zinc to make a good contribution to daily zinc intake.

A zinc deficiency is rare. However, vegetarians and especially vegans should pay particular attention to their zinc supply, as zinc sources are often of animal origin (e.g. beef, poultry and pork, fish, cheese and eggs).
Plant sources of zinc include nuts (e.g. cashews and pecans), wheat or rye sprouts.

In order to increase bioavailability in the body, we recommend taking histidine at the same time.

How many capsules do I get?

Your Indyvit contains 290 capsules, which we produce in our laboratory just for you, after we receive your order.

Can I save my mix or reorder it?

Sure! Your orders are saved in your user account. This way you always have an overview and can reorder. Of course you can also adjust a new order.

How and when should I take my indyvit?

Ideally, you should take your Indyvit with a meal, together with a glass of water. Instead of a meal, you can also have a glass of milk or orange juice or something similar. Taking it with a meal makes sense, as this way the ingredients can be better absorbed by your body.

If you configure a mix with several capsules per day, it is recommended that you distribute them throughout the day.

If you don't want to swallow capsules, you can also open the capsules and mix them with a non-hot food.
