What is Vitamin E and why does the body need Vitamin E

The name vitamin E stands for a series of similar compounds, also called tocopherols. Vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

Vitamin E, along with vitamins D, A and K, is one of the fat-soluble vitamins. This means that the body can only absorb and utilize these vitamins together with some fat.

Many cosmetics manufacturers swear by the additive vitamin E (tocopherol) in the production of sunscreens and skin creams. This is often not so much because of its effect on the skin, but rather to protect the ingredients from spoiling through contact with oxygen. You can therefore often find vitamin E in foods such as cooking oil, dressings, desserts and chewing gum. In the list of ingredients on the labels of these products, it is identified with the E numbers E 306 to 309.

Can I meet my daily needs through food?

The daily requirement for vitamin E depends on age and gender, among other things. Pregnancy, breastfeeding or psychological stress can influence the requirement. In general, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) recommends an intake of 12mg per day. The maximum daily dose has been limited to 205mg.

A balanced diet is a good way to cover your daily needs. The best way to do this is to eat plant-based foods. Vegetable oils, for example, provide a lot of vitamin E, but nuts and sweet potatoes are also excellent sources of vitamin E.

Other sources of vitamin E are:
250g tomato salad
175g trail mix with peanuts
60g hazelnuts or almonds
25g sunflower oil
9g wheat germ oil

FAQ

How many capsules do I get?

Your Indyvit contains 290 capsules, which we produce in our laboratory just for you, after we receive your order.

Can I save my mix or reorder it?

Sure! Your orders are saved in your user account. This way you always have an overview and can reorder. Of course you can also adjust a new order.

How and when should I take my indyvit?

Ideally, you should take your Indyvit with a meal, together with a glass of water. Instead of a meal, you can also have a glass of milk or orange juice or something similar. Taking it with a meal makes sense, as this way the ingredients can be better absorbed by your body.

If you configure a mix with several capsules per day, it is recommended that you distribute them throughout the day.

If you don't want to swallow capsules, you can also open the capsules and mix them with a non-hot food.
