What is Copper and why does the body need Copper

Copper is an essential mineral, a vital trace element. Our body cannot produce it itself and therefore has to absorb it from outside.

The trace element copper functions primarily in conjunction with iron, as it ensures that iron becomes blood pigment. Copper is needed to protect cell membranes, acts as an antioxidant and protects against free radicals.

If there is a copper deficiency, the body does not have sufficient amounts of the essential trace element copper. Copper is found in numerous enzymes and is partly responsible for the absorption of iron in the gastrointestinal tract. The reduced copper level in the blood is known as hypocupremium.

The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) recommends a daily intake of 1.0 mg of copper. The maximum daily limit has been set at 1.6 mg.

Our copper gluconate is completely GMO-free.

The permitted health claims for copper are as follows:
• Copper contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissue.
• Copper contributes to normal energy metabolism.
• Copper contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
• Copper contributes to normal hair pigmentation.
• Copper contributes to normal iron transport in the body.
• Copper contributes to normal skin pigmentation.
• Copper contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system.
• Copper helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

Ideally, you should take copper in the morning with your breakfast.

Can I meet my daily needs through food?

As an essential trace element, the human body cannot produce copper itself. We therefore have to take in copper through our diet or through food supplements. Rich in copper are:
Offal, especially liver, but also shellfish.
Plant-based foods mainly include nuts, cocoa, coffee, tea, legumes and whole grains.
They have copper contents between 0.3 and over 2 mg/100 g. Milk, sugar and highly refined grains are considered to be low in copper.

The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) recommends a daily intake of 1.0 mg of copper.

FAQ

How many capsules do I get?

Your Indyvit contains 290 capsules, which we produce in our laboratory just for you, after we receive your order.

Can I save my mix or reorder it?

Sure! Your orders are saved in your user account. This way you always have an overview and can reorder. Of course you can also adjust a new order.

How and when should I take my indyvit?

Ideally, you should take your Indyvit with a meal, together with a glass of water. Instead of a meal, you can also have a glass of milk or orange juice or something similar. Taking it with a meal makes sense, as this way the ingredients can be better absorbed by your body.

If you configure a mix with several capsules per day, it is recommended that you distribute them throughout the day.

If you don't want to swallow capsules, you can also open the capsules and mix them with a non-hot food.
