What is Glucosamine and why does the body need Glucosamine

Glucosamine is an amino sugar that occurs naturally in the human body. In the human body, glucosamine is a component of connective tissue, cartilage and synovial fluid.

Glucosamine was long advertised as a joint lubricant, but this was banned for dietary supplements in 2012 because its effectiveness could not be sufficiently proven.

Glucosamine is not yet approved as a medicine in Switzerland, but it is in the EU.
The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) sets the maximum permitted amount in food supplements for adults at 750 mg per day. This amount must not be exceeded.

For regulatory reasons, we are not allowed to refer to studies here.

Can I meet my daily needs through food?

It is almost impossible to consume the amount of glucosamine in your daily diet that is contained in dietary supplements.

Our glucosamine is of marine origin. Please take this into account if you have any intolerances or allergies, or if you follow a vegan diet.

People who take anticoagulants (coumarin anticoagulants) must be careful because glucosamine can increase the anti-coagulant effect of the medication. If you are taking anticoagulants, we recommend consulting your doctor beforehand.

FAQ

How many capsules do I get?

Your Indyvit contains 290 capsules, which we produce in our laboratory just for you, after we receive your order.

Can I save my mix or reorder it?

Sure! Your orders are saved in your user account. This way you always have an overview and can reorder. Of course you can also adjust a new order.

How and when should I take my indyvit?

Ideally, you should take your Indyvit with a meal, together with a glass of water. Instead of a meal, you can also have a glass of milk or orange juice or something similar. Taking it with a meal makes sense, as this way the ingredients can be better absorbed by your body.

If you configure a mix with several capsules per day, it is recommended that you distribute them throughout the day.

If you don't want to swallow capsules, you can also open the capsules and mix them with a non-hot food.
