vitamin A
Vitamin A, also called retinol, is a fat-soluble vitamin and is mainly found in animal products such as liver, milk, eggs and fish oil. It is particularly important for the protection and function of skin, eyes and mucous membranes. While retinol is the active form of vitamin A, the provitamin A beta-carotene is a precursor of vitamin A, which can be converted into the active form in the body.
For optimal tolerability and safety, we work with beta-carotene. -
Vitamin B9 (folate)
Vitamin B9, also called folate, is a water-soluble vitamin from the vitamin B complex that is important for healthy cell division and growth as well as for the immune system.
It is involved in a variety of metabolic processes and is particularly important during pregnancy to support the development of the fetal brain and spinal cord.
The industrially produced form of the vitamin is called folic acid.
We use methylfolate for optimal bioavailability. -
vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin from the vitamin B complex. It is important for the functioning of the nervous system and is involved in the formation of DNA and red blood cells. It is not found in plant-based foods, or only in very small amounts that are insufficient for a safe supply.
Vegans in particular should therefore cover their needs through suitable dietary supplements.
We process the methylated form of B12 (methylcobalamin) to ensure maximum availability in your body. -
vitamin D
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in bone health by promoting the absorption of calcium and phosphate in the body. It is also involved in many metabolic processes and is therefore also important for the immune system, nervous system and muscle health. Vitamin D can be absorbed through food and can also be produced in the body itself with the help of sunlight.
Our vitamin D3 is available in a vegan or non-vegan version. The vegan version is obtained from lichens, the non-vegan version from the wool wax of sheep's wool. -
antioxidants
During physical activity in general and especially during intensive exercise, such as regular sport, more free radicals are produced in the body. To look more closely, oxygen radicals are produced in the mitochondria as a byproduct of energy production (cellular respiration).
The body can usually counteract free radicals with naturally occurring antioxidants and antioxidant enzymes. However, if free radicals predominate because the load is too high or the antioxidant enzymes are not working properly, this leads to cell damage and is referred to as oxidative stress.
As an antioxidant, we recommend OPC grape seed extract. -
Omega-3
The polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids are essential for us humans and must be consumed regularly because our bodies cannot produce them themselves. However, there is not just one type of omega-3 fatty acid, but rather different types. α-linoleic acid, for example, is found primarily in linseed, rapeseed, soy and walnut oil.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are two other important omega-3 fatty acids, which are mainly found in
marine fish oils.
Our Omega-3 is bound to a lysinate. This increases the bioavailability by 5 times compared to conventional fish oil.
Swiss production
We always produce 'on demand'. As soon as an order arrives, production starts in our Swiss laboratory. After 3-5 working days, we send your indyvit to your home by A-Post.
